The UK’s longest railway viaduct and a key structure on the HS2 route between London and Birmingham, 3.4km long made up of 1,000 concrete pre-cast segments, received glowing praise from the judges, who described it as a ‘breathtaking composition’.
Rendel Limited and Ingérop, as part of the Align-D, along with Jacobs and Grimshaw were responsible for the tender, scheme and detailed design of the viaduct, associated with the approach embankments and ground work to the design and build contractor, Align JV. The members of Align -D worked in a close collaborative team
We at Rendel and Ingerop are extremely proud to have been a part of the team who designed the viaduct which has received such prestigious recognition as this award.
