Bangladesh Bridge Authority in London

Rendel has been pleased to welcome to London three guests from the Bangladesh Bridge Authority (BBA) for whom Rendel are working on the Padma Multipurpose Bridge Project (PMBP). The BBA team was based in the Rendel office for two weeks for the technology transfer/training aspect of the services that Rendel is undertaking for the Padma Bridge project, with emphasis on the design of deep-piled foundations.
Senior representatives of Rendel presented the methods used in determining geotechnical ground profiles and developing the geotechnical parameters that are used in pile design, including familiarisation with pile analysis software.
During their stay, the BBA team also visited the Institution of Civil Engineers, the Thames Barrier and met with the UK Trade Envoy to Bangladesh, the Rt Hon Rushanara Ali MP, when trade links between the UK and Bangladesh were discussed.
