Rendel has appointed Paul Sanders as its new infrastructure business unit director. Paul will be based in Rendel’s London office and head up the firm’s bridges and linear infrastructure sectors. A bridge engineer by background, Paul’s experience encompasses business development, project leadership, technical, contractual and commercial.

Paul is a Fellow of the Institution of Civil Engineers (FICE) and a Chartered Member of Engineers Australia. In 2022 he was awarded the International Association of Bridge and Structural Engineers (IABSE) Milne Medal in recognition of his achievements “for excellence in structural design, both in the overall concept and in the attention to detail in their work.” He is also a Chartered Member of Engineers Australia.

Vardy Jones, managing director of Rendel said, “We are delighted to welcome Paul Sanders to the Rendel senior management team. Rendel’s infrastructure sector has grown dramatically in the past few years. We are now engaged on large projects across all our target markets, including the UK, Australia, Canada, Lativa, Europe and Africa, with more in the pipeline. This growth has driven the requirement for a dedicated director and we look forward to Paul leading our bridge and linear infrastructure teams through our next phase of growth.”

Paul said: “I have watched Rendel grow from strength to strength over the last few years and I am very excited by the opportunity to join Rendel and be involved in some of the biggest infrastructure projects around the world.”
